ABSENTEE SERVICESAbsentee ballot applications are available on our website ten weeks prior to any election and at no charge to the voter. Absentee teams are available to deliver, witness and return the applications and actual ballot for voters who are: hospitalized or confined due to illness or injury after 5 p.m. on the Wednesday before an election; On the Friday before the election, after 8 a.m., a list of absentee ballot applicants is available to candidates, candidates' representatives, a representative from a campaign committee or an absentee voter. To request an absentee ballot:Please note: Applications are not posted for the upcoming elections: You will need to make your request by mail for an absentee ballot by no later than 5 p.m. on the Wednesday before the Election. Please mail your signed application to: Kansas City Election Board or you may fax your application to (816) 221-3348. After the application is received, a ballot will be mailed to you. Once voted, voter can return ballot in person or relative can return ballot within second degree of consanguinity, the return envelope may need to be notarized. Be sure and review the instructions listed on the envelope. Most importantly, it needs to be returned by mail no later than 7 p.m. on the day of the election. You may vote absentee in person at the Election Board from six weeks before and up to 5 p.m. the Monday before the election. HOW MAY I VOTE ABSENTEE ON A PERMANENT BASIS?Permanently disabled individuals may request to be placed on a list to receive an application for each election. If you would like to request to be placed on the list, click here for the form. Fax the completed form to 816.221.3348 or mail it to the election board.
